“What Will You Do? 48 things you can do to make a difference”: The Jewish Responsibility Project
'What will you do?' is a booklet sponsored by the Foundation and inspired by Chief Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks. His recent book, 'To Heal a Fractured World', explores the traditional Jewish values that teach us the responsibility we have for our fellow human beings, and aims to heighten awareness of Jewish Responsibility and so encourage more acts of charity and kindness.
The booklet the Foundation has sponsored helps to do exactly that, with practical ideas for making a difference. We hope that its widespread distribution in the Jewish Community, and use as part of learning programmes in schools and youth groups, will encourage many people to participate.
'What Will You Do?' is produced by the London School of Jewish Studies (www.lsjs.ac.uk). It sets out 48 things we each can do to make a difference to the world. No book can change the world, but the people who read it can. Benjamin was determined to make a difference. By sponsoring the distribution of this booklet to certain Shul's on Rosh Hashanah - Benjamin's Yahrzeit is Erev Rosh Hashanah – and to schools and youth groups we hope to encourage as many people as possible to do a little more to make a difference, and by doing something in Benjamin's name and memory to be a source of merit to Benjamin in his place on high.
